Reconciliation Action Plan

This consultation has concluded and the survey has now closed.

Have your say and help Council turn good intentions into action by reviewing the draft Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

The RAP will guide Council in contributing to national efforts to close the 17-year gap in life expectancy between Indigenous people and other Australians, to strengthen and improve relationships, and help eliminate the social and economic disadvantage faced by many Indigenous people.

Work on drafting the RAP began in February 2011, with extensive consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people including local Traditional Owner groups and organisations, and the Indigenous Advisory Committee to Council. A working group of Indigenous employees, Council's senior management and external Indigenous representation has guided the process.

We now invite you to consider the draft RAP and tell us - Have we got it right? Are there any gaps? Is there anything else we need to know?
